Are you interested in attending the United States Naval Academy?

The Greater DC Chapter of the United States Naval Academy Alumni Association serves our community by providing support to prospective applicants to the U.S. Naval Academy.  The chapter:

  • Hosts information sessions to help prospective applicants decide if the U.S. Naval Academy is the right school for them.  These sessions are typically held in the Fall.
  • Hosts candidate acceptance events to celebrate those that have been awarded admission to the Naval Academy.  These sessions are typically held in the late Spring.
  • Support candidates wishing to attend Summer Seminar.

Applying to USNA from this area is highly competitive due to the proximity to Annapolis as well as the top-notch school systems, and presents a unique set of challenges to candidates. The acceptance rate is a little less than 10%. We strive to provide applicants, as well as parents and counselors, with the information they need to be successful.

USNA has steadily increased the number of women candidates to nearly 30%, and all careers — including submarines since 2010—are open to women. Nearly a third of the class has post-high school experience, Including college, NAPS and enlistment.
